Jazz trumpeter Miles Davis (1926-1991) was a restless innovator and a cultural icon, whose music changed dramatically multiple times over the course of his five-decade career. He was at the forefront of various key musical movements and, as perhaps jazz’s greatest bandleader/musical director, helped bring a number of fellow all-time-greats to prominence.
